The artist rendering of the maps are mocking the stereotypes of each country. By using the countries popular perspectives, the artist claims to be an expert on all the places. Part of Africa has the word “HELL” written in all caps. This was a perspective that the sweltering heat and poverty stricken that is advertised so well by the media, is suppose to be the entire countries legacy. America was the map I concentrated on the hardest. I am an American and I am a southerner. Therefore, I understand about the outsiders having the wrong ideas about our culture. Some of his accusations were correct. “Bible Belt” was written across the southeastern part of the USA. I do believe our media, data, and religious heritage proves that a lot of those perspectives are true. Data will show that majority of southerners hold true to those values. However, the statement, “Poor brown people” was not only stereotypical but insulting. They are claiming that every Mexican that has brown skin is poor.

All the maps were very judgmental and in my opinion ignorant. If the artist reasoning was to show what he believes is other people’s judgement, the BRAVO. However, if these are maps that he personally filled in because of his own judgement then he is an uneducated imbecile.
